Whimsical Woodland Wedding Bouquets

I must admit when it comes to wedding flowers, I really do love foliage . I'm a big nature lover so to include lots of lovely greenery is always a joy . I know its not for everyone, and it doesn't suit every style and theme, but when this lovely bride Jodie, asked for whimsical woodland style wedding flowers, I did do a little silent excited squeal .
A lovely natural trailing bouquet , a delicate maid marion-esque flower crown and foliage bouquets with just the occasional flower for the bridesmaids - I was in pure heaven , reminds me of A Midsummers Nights Dream ! x

Peonies and David Austin Roses at Langley Priory

Back in May, we welcomed the start of this years peony season - a flower always very popular for weddings. Peonies are generally available during May and June, but sometimes the season stretches as early as April and like this year, as late as mid July ( although i think this will be the last week ) - its all in the hands of mother nature and how cold or mild our spring and early summer is .

For this wedding, we teamed gorgeous white and soft pink peonies with David Austin roses ( double swoon) with the addition of clematis . Pretty spray roses for the hair flowers and corsages, and lovely fluffy hydrangeas for the reception and table flowers .  A beautiful floral heart tied to the gates of the lovely Langley Priory greeted the guests .  Peonies are definately one of our favourites, are they yours ?

Summery Sweetpeas

Well, its been a long time since we wrote a blog post . Each week flies by so quickly , and the opportunity to sit at a laptop to sort through our (hundreds) of photos are few and far between .
However as my camera , phone and iPad are all almost full to the brim , its time i started freeing up some space and posting some of our pictures .
I'm starting off with these lovely wedding bouquets we made a couple of weeks ago . Sweetpeas definately have to be one of my favourite summer flowers, so it was really lovely to use them in a summery seasonal mix .  Combined with freesia, mint, lavender, their scent was heavenly !
For the tables , we provided simple vases of similar combinations . ( Apologies for the quality of the bottom picture, a quick pic taken on my phone just before delivery ! )
Im glad to say that this wedding was filled with sunshine also, a rarity it would seem on saturdays at the minute . More blog posts to come very soon , i promise ! x
