Birdcages, Teapots With Purple Country Garden Wedding Flowers

This lovely themed wedding was held a couple of weeks ago at nearby Staunton Harold Hall , only a stones throw away from our shop. The bride and groom requested deeper shade country flowers to coordinate with their navy blue bridesmaid dresses.
I really like these flowers ( even if i do say so myself ;), coolwater roses, anemones, hyacinths, rannuculus, phlox , lilac and clematis were the core flowers, introducing hydrangea, stocks and lush viburnum in the reception flowers - pretty birdcages, teapots and jugs
I think this colourscheme would work alongside quite a few colour themes - pinks, purples, blues, greens, whites. What do you think? xx

Bluebell Woods - Calke Park

This evening, as it wasnt raining for once, we went for a lovely walk in the woods of Calke Abbey. I love Calke Park, and feel very lucky it is only 5 minutes away from the shop. Quite often on my day off, me and the little doggy go for walkies there. I love it when it is really quiet and the weekend crowds arent around.
At this time of year, it is particulary special as the woods are completely filled with bluebells, it really is a magical sight .....

Lots of Lovely Tulips

We have been working with lots of tulips over the last few weeks, (yay for it being spring!), particulary in wedding work.
Tulips are one of those flowers that i personally think, keeping it simple is best. What do you think ?

Hypnose Rose Country Bouquets

Here are a few pictures of one set of wedding bouquets from last week.
A lovely informal mix of countrystyle flowers and foliages, perfect for the rustic barn setting of the wedding.
We used hypnose roses within these bouquets, which are the browny/pink shade roses. i have heard on the grapevine that these roses may be phased out later this year, as the grower doesnt want to produce them anymore. Really hope that this isnt true Mr Hypnose rose grower!

Spring Basket Workshop

Following the success of our christmas doorwreath workshops ( we only planned one, and actually did 3 workshops in the end), we thought it would be a lovely time of year to plan in another, this time using beautiful spring flowers. With Mothers Day only a few days away, it was a lovely present to give to mums, or, as some of our ladies did, booked their mum on the course too.

I like to work to a structured colour palette so decided to base the theme on fresh spring colours - yellow, white and blues. Wanting to give our ladies really lovely flowers to work with, we used spring flowers beauties such as paperwhites, rannuculus, forget me nots, tulips and hyacinths.

I gave my basket shown above to my mum, here are some pics of the ladies creating their masterpieces for their mummys.....

Thankyou to everyone who came and look forward to seeing you on the next one xx
